Sticky Notes App Reviews

27 add

Probably my worst purchase of 2012.

I was willing to spend $7 on an notepad app that could do something better and different than the Mac Stickies, or the free version of Evernote. To me, if this thing was as good as I had hoped, and as good as everyone else had reviewed, this would have been worth my money. Unfortunately it is ridden with bugs on an embarrassing level. Here are some examples: - I have two monitors. If you create a note on the secondary monitor, it forces you to move it to the primary. You cannot move it back. - No ability to easily save out your notes, or keep them stored in a certain folder of your choosing (much like Mac Stickies). If you were hoping to sync your notes up on a cloud, you can forget about it. - The preferences DO NOT work. If you set your new notes up a certain way within preferences, it will simply be ignored, and will revert back to its own default font and window options. - There is no menu for this application on the top menu bar of OS X. In fact, you can only access Preferences through an icon on the top menu bar. - There are no additional formatting options in the notes, as opposed to Mac Stickies. These are the biggest issues I have with it. I have a lot more. This app, is worse than the stickies that come with your Mac. The only great thing I can think of about this app is the option to appoint custom note colors, the translucent/floating option, and attaching notes to an application (which doesnt usually work anyways). Just to reiterate, the stickies application that comes with your Mac, works better as a stickies app, than this $7 application. A very big disappointment, and I wish this was much better than advertised.

App is a Fail

I bought the app and it never worked correctly. app crashed on me all the time. 10mins after i bought i just wanted to get rid of it! waist of money! do not buy app.

Almost there

I use this fore the attach-to-applications feature, which is why I bought it. That said, its been a little buggy since the beginning. The bugs are small, but Im a little disappointed that they havent been fixed over the two years that Ive had this app.

Can not launch

Does not start. Now have all my noted on it and it does not start up.

Not as easy as it should be.

I dont bother using this app because it is infuriating trying to click the tiny control icons at the top corners. They are too close to the window size controls and I spend way too much time trying to position the cursor perfectly enough to delete a note.

Pretty good

I like a lot about this, but it has some annoyances. I dont care much about colors, but there is a wide variety of palettes to choose from. Its convenient that you can make the stickies stay on one desktop or have them appear on all. Its great to be able to create a table in a sticky, but when it disappears re-starting the app, thats frustrating. This has been a bug for a few months, and I see that its been reported, but no fix yet. Better that the Apple Stickies, but not as good as it could be.

Extremely Useful

I like this app a great deal, and I am extremely satisfied. I love the versatility and the customizable color palettes. Even being able to change the "names" of the colors in a palette is a huge perk. Therere only a couple of things I would love to see addressed or implemented. First, when I restart my computer, many, if not all, of the notes I have saved on my desktop get moved and stack on one another. I have to rearrange them every time I restart my computer. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice if they would retain their position. Second, if I drag a word document into a note or paste it in, all I end up with is a useless thumbnail. I would really like to be able to click on the document and have it open. I could use the sticky notes to declutter my desktop (which I already use it for in other ways). Same thing with photos, I would rather have the photo be in more of a link format than expand the entire photo (or at least the option to change how this works) so that I could store multiple photos in one single note and just click on the one I want. Finally, the fact that I am unable to affect the color of the font when a note is minimized and the first line shows up in the title actually eliminates some of the functinoality of the different color options. For example, if I want a black note, I can have one, but I wont be able to see the "title" of it. All in all, love the app and am very grateful to have it at my disposal. :)
